Synopsis: It is a proven fact that ophthalmologists’ dispensaries significantly under-perform their counterparts in optometry and commercial practice. This year’s course explores the factors that contribute to improved sales and profits. It is designed for practices that want to create a plan of action for growth.
Topics to be discussed at length are: the factors that affect sales; factors that affect profits; dispensary integration and why it is essential; how to construct and read a financial statement; the merchandise mix, inventory control and inventory turns; marketing, market positioning; managing add-on sales; reports you should generate and how to create a plan of action. In addition, Mr. De Gennaro will be discussing portions of his book, The Dispensing Ophthalmologist.
Participants are encouraged to bring their financial statements and any operating reports they use to manage their dispensaries, for discussion during the course.
Dispensing ophthalmologists, their administrators, opticians and those who are considering opening a dispensary should ideally take this course.
Attendance is limited. Early registration highly recommended.
