As I Remember It, recounts entertaining 500 word or less vignettes of training, residency and early practice.

Andrew Doan, MD, Scope's technology columnist, is an eye pathologist and comprehensive ophthalmologist in San Diego. Dr. Doan welcomes topic suggestions and comments.

In 1886, John Pemberton, an Atlanta pharmacist invented a fragrant, caramel-colored liquid that was then mixed with carbonated water to become what we know today as Coca-Cola. Coca-Cola, headquartered in Atlanta, is one of the top ten American brands recognized worldwide and enjoyed by populations in 53 countries. The special Meeting keynote speaker, Mr. Ryan will present "Ten Things You Might Not Know About Coca-Cola." He will be joined by Academy member Nancy Newman, MD. Dr. Newman will present "Mitochnondrial Disease: Is It All Your Mother's Fault?"
