To qualify, applicants must:

• Be an active international member of the Academy
• Be a past recipient of the International Ophthalmologist Education Award
• Earn 60 Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits within two year of applying.
  Half (30) of the credits must be earned from Academy-sponsored CME activities.
• Successfully complete a timed, online self-assessment test

Members who fulfill the requirements and qualify for the International Scholar Award receive a certificate, an Annual Meeting ribbon, and recognition on the Academy’s Web site, in EyeNet Magazine, at the Annual Meeting and through a press release provided to their local media.
