AAO Communication Central
Access e-mail, browse the Internet, leave or retrieve messages with fellow attendees and search the Virtual Exhibition — all through AAO Communication Central terminals onsite located in the A-B Connector and at terminals in the Technology Pavilion. AAO Communication Central will also be available through the Wi-Fi HotSpots located at AAOasis booths #141 and 5233. In October, the Message Center will be available through the Academy's Web site.

The adoption of electronic health records is a continuum. No one in health care has achieved the most complete level of EHR integration. Many physicians are in the phase of incorporating a few major features of electronic workflow. The Academy has developed a model to describe stages of EHR adoption, and information resources for e-prescribing. Speakers will explain the EHR adoption model, its various stages and what is needed at each stage, and e-prescribing, particularly in terms of data exchange and standards (interoperability).
