OCT-A can play a complementary role to structural OCT imaging and VF testing in the diagnosis and monitoring of glaucoma. It has the potential to differentiate subtypes of glaucoma based on disease etiology. Current clinical use is limited by artifacts, insufficient longitudinal data, and lack of normative database. Active research efforts are under way to improve the clinical utility of OCT-A for glaucoma patients and to enhance our understanding of the vascular etiology of glaucoma.
