Dr. Robert Osher demonstrates the utility of Healon5 to achieve viscomydriasis in patients with a small or constricted pupil. He uses Healon5 routinely, but finds it especially useful in patients with intraoperative floppy iris syndrome (IFIS) and an atonic iris. It’s also useful for re-dilation after capsulorhexis to assist in haptic alignment.
