    Chemodenervation for Large-Angle Congenital Esotropia

    Pediatric Ophth/Strabismus

Esotropia is a strabismus where one or both eyes turn inward, causing eye misalignment. One possible treatment for congenital esotropia is the injection of botulinum toxin into the medial rectus muscle. By blocking neuronal signaling and allowing the muscle to relax, botulinum toxin can help correct the strabismus by allowing the eye to realign properly. Dr. Adriana Grigorian and Ms. Alaina Baggett demonstrate chemodenervation of the bilateral medial rectus muscles in a child with congenital esotropia.
