    AAO 2023
    Comprehensive Ophthalmology, Pediatric Ophth/Strabismus, Strabismus

In the final presentation from the AAO 2023 symposium on "Adult Strabismus for the Comprehensive Ophthalmologist," Dr. Sean Donahue poses 2 questions around decompensated childhood strabismus: Why does it deteriorate, and what do we do about it? Decompensation is often due to poor fusion or a lack of fusion, possibly caused by incomitance related to previous surgery. However, according to Dr. Donahue, "fusion is your friend"; that is, see how it can be used to treat adults with strabismus.
