    Dr. Elena Barraquer describes some of the cataract surgery situations in which Vision Blue (trypan blue) can be used. These include cataracts without a red reflex (e.g., mature cataract), cataracts associated with vitreous hemorrhage or retinal detachment, cases where there is a small pupil or where the pupil will not dilate (e.g., synechiae), and cases of corneal opacity.
