Determining Where Procedures Can Be Performed
Where would I look to see if a procedure could be performed at the office or if it must be done at an ambulatory surgery center (ASC)?
Answer: Site of service allowables are found under RVU office and/or a RVU facility listings. If there is not an RVU office or facility listed, then the payer expects that procedure or test to be performed in the setting where there are RVUs listed. You can look up RVUs at
