Management of a Migrating Intraocular Worm

In this clinical video, Dr. Priya Bajgai and her colleagues from the Sagarmatha Chaudhary Eye Hospital in Lahan, Nepal demonstrate how they managed a patient who presented with a migrating worm within the posterior segment. They had initially planned a pars plana vitrectomy with aspiration of the worm due to its location in the vitreous cavity. However, following completion of blood work, CT scan of the head and peripheral smears 3 days later, the worm had migrated to the subretinal space. Thus, they instead decided to intervene by directly applying a laser beam over the worm before it could cause any further damage.
