    Retina/Vitreous

Hypertensive retinopathy is a common occurrence in middle-aged men. It often manifests with tortuous arterioles, indicative of chronic high blood pressure affecting the retinal blood vessels. These changes reflect the impact of systemic hypertension on small vessels, leading to arteriolar narrowing, tortuosity, and sometimes even arteriovenous nicking. Such findings are crucial in clinical assessment, highlighting the need for blood pressure management to prevent further retinal damage and associated vision complications. Regular ophthalmologic monitoring is essential for early detection and intervention.
