  • Superglue to Eye

Question: Our patient got superglue in their right eye. Our physician examined the patient and debrided the lashes. What CPT code is billed for the removal of glue from lashes?

Answer: Prior to Jan. 2021, this is not a separately billable service, but part of the E/M or Eye visit code submitted.

After Jan 1, 2021, if the physician is debriding the lashes, it can be counted as physician time – when billing based on time rather than medical decision making.
