    Cornea/External Disease

This is an intraoperative view of penetrating keratoplasty, where the recipient corneal bed is dissected using beveled corneal scissors. The method is as follows: Keep the corneal scissors 45–90 degrees away from the edge of the dissected tissue to maintain host button alignment. Maintain constant visibility of the tip of the scissors and apply neutral or slightly inward pressure to prevent unintentional damage to the iris. Remaining tags of corneal tissue can be trimmed with Vannas scissors with the utmost care, because excess trimming can lead to wound leakage and apposition problems. Also, a peripheral iridotomy has been done using Vannas scissors and tooth forceps.
